South Florida Research Institute
South Florida Research Institute (SFRI) is an independent
clinical research site integrated with a large Internal
Medicine/Nephrology private practice, and a network of over 20
physicians in private practice. SFRI has access to a database of
over 10,000 active patients in the following fields:
- Nephrology
- Internal Medicine
- Neurology
- Cardiovascular
- Endocrinology
- Plastic Surgery
SFRI is composed of qualified Investigators, nurses, and study
coordinators with over 25 years of combined clinical research
experience. SFRI is committed to deliver efficient and timely
clinical data in adherence with FDA regulations and GCP guidelines.
In addition, our computerized system, and customized software
efficiently helps track recruitment, patient appointments, study
visits and financial records.
We have conducted clinical trials for over 10 years under the
name of South Florida Nephrology Associates. Due to our success, we
decided to incorporate other physicians in the area with other
clinical specialties to our research network. In order to do so,
our name has changed to South Florida Research Institute.

- Nephrology: Anemia, hyperphosphatemia, CKD, hemodialysis,
metabolic bone disease, ADH syndrome
- Cardiology: Hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, CHF,
angina, hyperlipidemia
- Endocrinology: Diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis
- Musculoskeletal: Osteoarthritis
- Neurology: Peripheral neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia,
headaches
- Respiratory: asthma, bronchitis, COPD
- Dermatology: cosmetic related research
The institute is located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, next to Florida Medical Center. It is just 15 minutes away
from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.
SFRI offers ample monitoring space, a secure, locked, limited
access drug storage area, treatment rooms, regulatory, coordinating
and business offices, and onsite file storage.

Each specialty division of SFRI includes experienced
board-certified investigators and sub-investigators.
Our 3 full time research coordinators and research assistant
have experience in Phase II to IV clinical trials. The research
coordinators include foreign medical graduates and a nurse. In
addition, SFRI provides industry related education in an ongoing
basis.
Our geographic area is comprised by a wide range of age, gender,
and ethnic background. Our population is mainly adult over 45 years
old.
We are able to use Central IRB, which ensures a quick turnaround
of documents.
