The KMED Research database consists of more than 13,000
patients. We also draw participants from the independent databases
of several sub-specialists and primary care physicians that are
located within a half-mile of our facility.
KMED is located within Macomb county, the ninth smallest of
Michigan's 83 counties (with 482 square miles), yet it ranks
third in population with 825,000 residents.
The KMED facility is also two miles from Wayne County. It is
made up of 33 cities, including the city of Detroit, 10 townships,
one village and 41 public school districts. Its population of
approximately 2.1 million makes it the most populous county in the
state of Michigan and the eleventh most populous county in the
nation.
