Health Research Institute (HRI) is a dedicated multi-specialty
research center. We are affiliated with the Oklahoma Foundation for
Orthopedic Health. HRI is committed to the study of new treatments,
devices and drugs with special interest in the areas of
Orthopedics, Rheumatology, and Pain management.
The Health Research Institute conducts approximately 20-25
trials annually. We take great pride in providing our patients with

Health Research Institute is an Independent Research Facility
affiliated with a group of Orthopedic Surgeons, Anesthesiologist,
and a Rheumatologist. We have onsite a specialty hospital with ER
and an outpatient surgery center.

Joseph Grillo, M.D.
Medical Director
As an orthopedic surgeon with over 20 years experience and
specialized training, Dr. Grillo’s practice is primarily focused on
the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of a broad spectrum of
foot and ankle conditions.
Raul Romea, M.D.
Rheumatology
As a board-certified physician in internal medicine with
subspecialty in rheumatology, Dr. Romea is specially trained to
treat musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, and autoimmune diseases.

Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery
A board-certified in orthopedic surgery, surgery of the hand and
pain management, and his practice is focused primarily on treatment
of the hand and upper extremity.

Dr. Soo’s extensive training and experience enables him to provide
surgical and non-surgical treatment for the entire spectrum of
spinal conditions.

As a physician sub-specializing in pain management, his practice

Joel Frazier, M.D.
Hand and Upper Extremity Treatment
As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and hand surgeon, Dr.
Frazier specializes in hand, wrist and elbow surgery. With his
extensive training and background, he is able to provide surgical
and non-surgical treatment for the entire spectrum of upper
extremity conditions.
George S. Alhaj, MD
Pain Management
As a physician specializing in pain management and anesthesiology,
Dr. Alhaj’s practice is focused on a variety of x-ray guided
pain management interventions, surgical implantations for
spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps, as well as cancer
pain management.
Rachel Waldrop, BS, CCRP
Director of Clinical Research
7 years experience in coordinating and managing Phase II, III, and
IV trials.
Certified Clinical Research Coordinator through SOCRA since
2003.
