Welcome to Texas Neurology

Mission statement: "To serve our patients, physicians, colleagues and students by providing the highest quality of neurological care, consultative services and educational opportunities."

Texas Neurology has a long, rich tradition of excellence in clinical research. We are staffed with team of physicians with a total of over 40 years combined experience in pharmaceutical research who are committed to advancing medical science through research.

Texas Neurology has developed the following specialty centers; ALS Center, Epilepsy Clinic, Headache Institute, Infusion Center, Clinical Research Institute, Imaging Center, Multiple Sclerosis Center, and Sleep Disorders Center. These centers offer patients a participatory role in developing new medicines and treatments through ongoing research programs.

Facility Description

To ensure our doctors, staff and patients are working with the latest technology and resources; Texas Neurology has developed the following specialty centers:

Texas Neurology has a full CLIA -certified research laboratory on-site that includes the following:

  • Monitored -20° freezer, -80° freezer
  • Liquid nitrogen storage
  • Refrigerated centrifuges
  • Biohazard Hood
  • Trained staff to prepare and ship clinical specimens
  • ECG
  • DEXA scan
  • Sleep lab/ PSGs
  • EEG
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging - 3.0T and 1.5T

Staff Expertise

The research staff at Texas Neurology is comprised of individuals with many years of research experience as well as clinical experience. A dedicated team of clinical research coordinators as well as registered nurses are available to manage trials from Phase I to Phase IV.

  • Shari Hand - Clinical Research Manager and CCRC with eight years research experience
  • Shirley O'Leary - Research Nurse with fourteen years research experience
  • Janey Phillips - Clinical Research Coordinator with thirteen years research experience
  • Carmen Garcia - Clinical Research Coordinator with over two years research experience
  • Brent Spears - Clinical Research Coordinator with over five years research experience

Patient Demographics

Texas Neurology has an extensive patient population with well over 10,000 in a combined patient database. Approximately 75% of our patients are between the ages of 20 – 60. These patients can be selected by diagnosis when required. Currently we have approximately 2600 Migraine patients, 2000 MS patients, 1400 Parkinson’s patients, and more than 1000 Alzheimer’s patients.
