Research Center Profile:
Dermatology Associates, PLLC
Dermatology Associates' clinical research facility is a
provider of Phase II through Phase IV dermatology clinical trials.
We are dedicated to conducting the highest quality of clinical
research. Although the facility itself is newly established, Dr.
Bernard Goffe has been practicing clinical research for nearly 25
years. He has served on the medical advisory board for the National
Psoriasis Foundation and is a member of both the American Medical
Association (AMA) and the American Academy of Dermatology
(AAD).
Our 9000sq ft. facility is equipped to accommodate the needs of
Dermatology Associates group practice and the clinical research
program. Our center can provide phototherapy, laser and cosmetic
services, phlebotomy, and surgical procedures such as biopsies. The
site has 13 exam rooms and 2 surgery rooms. There is a large
research storage room which contains a dedicated refrigerator for
study medication, -70 degree Celsius freezer, a wall locker, and
large capacity shelving space to accommodate study materials. In
addition to our research space, there is a dedicated area for
monitoring visits. The site is equipped with both dial-up phone and
high speed internet lines for email and internet access. A copier
and facsimile are available for the monitors to use as well.
Dr. Goffe's predominant research focus lies in psoriasis, a
chronic skin condition characterized as a noncontagious
inflammatory skin disease characterized by recurring reddish
patches covered with silvery scales. He is well known for his
efforts in the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis. Dr. Goffe
along with rheumatologist Dr. Philip Mease are well known for their
published work in the Lancet; Etanercept in the Treatment of
Psoriatic Arthritis, 2000.
Dr. Goffe has also played an instrumental role in clinical
trials involving Enbrel in the treatment of Psoriasis. In February
2004, Enbrel received FDA approval for the treatment of Psoriasis.
Dr. Goffe also has experience in the use of other conventional and
new biological treatments such as topical steroids, oral retinoids,
Methotrexate, PUVA, Remicade, Raptiva and Amevive.
Dr. Goffe has served as a principal investigator for numerous
clinical trials. His staff includes two sub investigators: board
certified dermatologist Dr. Clive Liu, and Ardeth Dunne, PAC. Our
research department consists of one certified research coordinator
and one non-certified research coordinator, a research assistant
and administrator.
We pull our subjects from a diverse population of 2 million
people.
