Internal Medicine Research Associates, Inc. (IMRA) is an
independent clinical research site specializing in outpatient Phase
II through IV clinical trials. IMRA manages and coordinates
clinical studies for the pharmaceutical industry that involves
testing of new pharmaceutical, biological and medical devices on
human volunteers. We work with physicians who are experienced in
their field of medicine to coordinate volunteers who are interested
in participating in the development of new drugs and treatments.
IMRA has a commitment to the ethical conduct of clinical trials in
which protection of human subjects is first and foremost. IMRA
prefers to utilize central institutional review boards (IRBs)
affiliated with the trial. This streamlines the regulatory
processes associated with the trial which enables Internal Medicine
Research Associates to expedite screening, enrollment, management
and completion of the trial in an efficient manner.
IMRA demonstrates a strong commitment to quality research
through SOP and protocol adherence, compliance to the International
Conference of Harmonization Good Clinical Practices (ICH-GCPs) and
the FDA Code of Federal Regulations. IMRA SOPs are reviewed
regularly for continued quality and are updated for compliance
annually. (Note* IMRA SOPs are available for inspection upon
request during site qualification or monitoring visits). IMRA staff
and physicians are experienced clinical research professionals who
understand the requirements and necessity of participation with
investigator meetings, providing appropriate oversight and
involvement for the trial and accessibility during site monitoring
visits.
Our physicians each maintain a private practice and have
frequently cared for multi-generations of families. This enables
IMRA to access a large population of subjects that have
long-standing, patient-physician relationships. The benefit for the
customers with which we work is to provide non-transitory, quality
subject populations from a variety of demographic and
socio-economic backgrounds to enroll in clinical trials. The
physicians know their patients well, are able to readily identify
subjects and have the comfort level of conducting one-on-one
discussions when presenting trials and managing retention. The
research coordinators at the center include Registered Nurses,
Registered Dieticians, Registered Respiratory Therapists,
Registered Pulmonary Function Technologists and Certified
Cardio-graphic Technologists which are ACLS certified, experienced
in regulatory processes, electronic data entry, clinical trial
management and IATA trained. When eligible, through structured
training and experience, research coordinators are encouraged to
become Certified Clinical Research Coordinators. The therapeutic
areas of interest at IMRA include (but are not limited to)
cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, rheumatology, neurology,
infectious disease, urology, gastroenterology, obesity, sleep
disorders and wellness management.
