Soapstone Center for Clinical Research
Soapstone Center for Clinical Research is a private practice
research facility of OB/GYN physician, Tyrone C. Malloy, MD, JD. We
are located in Decatur, Georgia which is an eastern suburb of
Atlanta. The private practice has been in existence for 27 years
and we have been conducting clinical research since 2002.
Our mission is to support the pharmaceutical, medical, and local
communities by providing quality data and subject diversity for
clinical trials and advance the field of drug/device safety and
efficacy for our local and global communities.
Our center specializes in Women's Health research. We have
conducted trials of contraception, bacterial and candidal
vaginitis, hormone replacement therapy, overactive bladder, stress
urinary incontinence, anemia, dysmenorrhea, hyperlipidemia,
decreased libido, HPV, endometriosis, cyclic mastalgia, abnormal
uterine bleeding, IUD's, and genital herpes.
The sponsors we have worked with include Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Barr
Laboratories, Warner Chilcott, Solvay, Bayer Pharmaceuticals,
AstraZeneca, Luitpold, Sanofi-Aventis, Watson, Novartis, Symbollon,
Proctor and Gamble, Abbott, Neurocrine, and Shire
Pharmaceuticals.
The CROs we have worked with include PPD, Omnicare, Icon,
Quintiles, Covance, PAREXEL and Essential Research.
Our outpatient facility is a 7,000 square foot, stand alone
building. We are located on the public bus route, MARTA. We are 5
minutes from Dekalb Medical Center, Hillandale, and convenient to
major interstate highways. We have in-office capability to perform
3/4D Ultrasound, Video Colposcopy, Urodynamics and EKG procedures.
We also can outsource mammography and bone density scans. We see
patients Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m., Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays by
appointment only.
Dr. Tyrone Malloy, MD, JDis a board certified
OB/GYN with 33 years of clinical experience. He has been involved
in clinical research since 1994. He is also a clinical instructor
in the department of OB/GYN at Emory University School of
Medicine.
Belinda Dallas, BS, WHNP, is a women’s health
nurse practitioner and sub investigator for our clinical trials.
She has 20 years of clinical experience. She has been involved in
clinical trials since 2002.
Sarah Holmes, BA, CMM, CHCO is the Budget,
Contract and Finance Analyst and has managed medical budgeting and
contracts for 25 years
Natalie Hinton, BS is a clinical research
coordinator and has been involved in research for two years
Tanyece Edwards, MA is a clinical research
coordinator and has been involved in research four years
Brandinika Ritter, BS, MFS is a clinical
research coordinator and has been involved in research for one
year
Our research coordinators are full time, and available to see
patients beyond the scheduled hours of operation.
Our practice is located in a predominantly African American
community. Our private patient database consists of 90% African
American females. The other 10% is comprised of a mixture of
Caucasian, Asian, and Hispanic females. Consequently our subject
enrollment for research studies has been primarily African
American. The age range of our patients is 15-80 years old.
Our site uses central IRBs.
