The department of research at Internist Associates of Central
New York operates within a large internal medicine practice. Dr.
Ray Forbes performed his first clinical trial in 1998, and the
department developed from there.
Our mission is: to benefit society by assisting
the medical community with developing better treatments for
specific disease states. We conduct our clinical trials with
integrity and follow the principle of Good Clinical Practice. In
addition to extensive experience in Internal Medicine, we have
specialists in the areas of Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Podiatry,
and Pulmonology who also participate in research.
Our research center has experience conducting clinical

Our research department is situated within the well-established
Internal Medicine office of Internist Associates of Central New
York. Our group is comprised of 15 physicians with an active
patient database of over 20,000. We are conveniently located in the
university area of Syracuse and are easily accessible via public
transportation, highways, and Hancock International Airport. Also,
there is enclosed access to two major hospitals.
Our office has full time experienced study coordinators to
facilitate patient recruitment, and study completion. There is a
separate workspace with a dedicated phone and fax line.

Our patient population is comprised of both healthy, and those
persons with chronic and acute diseases. There are over 20,000
active patients to pool for potential subjects, because these
people are our own patients we have a high rate of compliance and
good success in recruiting.
