Family Allergy and Asthma Research Institute

Family Allergy and Asthma Research Institute is a group of
multi-therapeutic outpatient clinical sites specializing in
research, education, testing and treatment of pediatric and adult
allergy and asthma patients. We have seven offices serving
populations in Southern Indiana, Metropolitan Louisville and three
rural offices in South Central Kentucky. The Research Center,
(Family)Allergy and Asthma Research Institute (FAARI) is located in
the South End of Louisville and is easily accessible by car and
public transportation. Louisville International Airport is within 3
miles of the Research Center.
The experienced, hardworking team members at FAARI are dedicated
to the goal of a positive experience and outcome for both the study
patient and sponsor.

FAARI has specialized in clinical research for more than 5
years. We have experience with Phase II, III and IV clinical
trials. Our research interests include:

We are interested in expanding our clinical trials experience to
other areas such as hypertension and migraine headaches. We have
completed research studies with Glaxo Wellcome, Astra Merck,
SmithKline Beecham, Ciba Geigy, Astra USA, Zeneca, Pfizer,
Schering-Plough, Forest, Hoechst Marion Roussel, Rhone-Poulenc
Rorer, Muro, Abbott, Boehringer Ingelheim, Janssen, Sepracor and
ViroPharm. We work well with CRO's. We are frequently the top
enroller for studies in which we participate.
The FAARI Research Center includes:

Stephen J. Pollard, M.D., FA.A.A.A.I., Research
Director, is a 1975 graduate of the University of Louisville. He
completed his residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in allergy
and immunology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
He is board certified in pediatrics (1980) and a Diplomate of the
American Board of Allergy & Immunology (1983). He is currently
an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Louisville. He
has been the principal investigator in many clinical research
studies.
James L. Sublett, M.D., FA.A.A.A.I., Medical
Director, is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of
Medicine and continued his training there, completing a residency
in pediatrics and two additional years as a Fellow in allergy &
immunology. He remains active with the University School of
Medicine as Section Chief for Allergy & Immunology and
Associate Clinical Professor in Pediatrics. Dr. Sublett is board
certified in pediatrics (1980) and Allergy and Immunology (1981).
He is the National Medical Director of VAACA (Vivra Allergy and
Asthma CareAmerica). He is actively involved in clinical research
and has served as principal & sub-investigator in many research
studies.
Timothy A. Feger, M.D., FA.A.A.A.I., is a 1990
graduate of the University School of Medicine. He completed his
residency in pediatrics at the University of Louisville
Kosair-Childrens Hospital in 1993 and completed a two year
fellowship in June 1995 at the Medical College of Georgia in
allergy, asthma & immunology. Dr. Feger is board certified in
pediatrics (1993) and is board certified in allergy &
immunology (1995). He has worked in laboratory and clinical
research.
Deidra Henley Sanders, MSN, C.F.N.P., received
her nursing degree from Murray State University. She continued her
graduate studies at the University of Kentucky receiving a Masters
of Science in Nursing in 1978. In 1996 she completed the Family
Nurse practitioner program at Spalding University. She has been
actively involved in research as a sub-investigator.
Monica Lillis Bell, MSN, CFNP received her
nursing degree from Albright College. She continued her graduate
studies at Pennsylvania State University receiving a Master of
Nursing in Family Health in 1977.She has been involved in research
as a sub-investigator and joined Family Allergy and Asthma Research
Institute in 2000.
Laura A. Howell, MSN, CPNP received her nursing
degree from Spalding University. She continued her graduate studies
at the University of Cincinnati, receiving a Masters of Science
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1996. She has been involved in
research as a sub-investigator, and joined Family Allergy and
Asthma Research Institute in 1999.
Christy M. Yates, CFNP received her nursing
degree from the University of Kentucky. She continued her graduate
studies at Spalding University, receiving a Masters of Science in
Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner. Additionally she completed the
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of
Louisville in 1999. She has been involved in research as a
sub-investigator with Family Allergy and Asthma Research Institute
since 2000.
Jason Guin, M.D. is a 1997 graduate of
University of Arkansas for Medical Services. He completed his
residency at the University of Arkansas St. Bernard's Regional
Medical Center in 1998, his pediatric residency at the University
of Mississippi Medical Center in 2001 and a two-year fellowship at
Duke University Medical Center in 2003 in Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Guin is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and
Immunology. He serves as sub-investigator in our studies.
Damon B. Coyle, M.D., F.A.A.P. is a 1998
graduated of University of Louisville - School of Medicine. He
completed his Pediatric residency at University of Tennessee
College of Medicine in 2001 and a two-year fellowship in Allergy
and Immunology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in
2003. Dr. Coyle is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and
Immunology. He serves as sub-investigator in our studies.

Clinical Research
Our practice consults with approximately 4,500 new patients per
year for comprehensive allergy workups and 9,000 continuing care
appointments annually. Over 20,000 current patients record are
accessible by our Medic computerized practice management system.
Our clinical research database includes over 9,000 research
participants. We currently serve approximately 6,000 asthmatics
patient with the remainder of patients having allergic rhinitis,
chronic, stinging in a insect hyperactivity, urticaria and other
allergic related problems.
