Elite Research Institute is dedicated to providing the highest quality of Phase I/II clinical trials service to the Pharmaceutical Industry. We are located in the North Miami area. The center has the capacity of 100 beds designed to provide inpatient and outpatient services. The center is fully equipped to conduct clinical trials with the most advanced technology. Our professional staff is qualified to conduct the most complex of clinical trials. We have a local Independent Investigational Review Board that provides rapid decisions on study reviews and approvals. At Elite Research Institute the relentless pursuit of Excellence is our goal.

Facility Description

Elite Research Institute is a 22,000 square feet facility located in the North Miami area. The location is demographically attractive to participants and visiting clients. The center is approximately 15 minutes South of Fort Lauderdale Int. Airport, 15 minutes North of Miami International Airport and 10 minutes North West of sunny Miami Beach. We are fully equipped to conduct inpatient and outpatient Phase I/II clinical trials with a capacity of 100 beds and spacious areas that provide our participants a pleasant and comfortable stay during their inpatient period. Our center is ideally located 3 minutes from Parkway Regional Hospital. We work with a local Investigational Review Board that provides weekly reviews.

Investigator Experience

Martha Hernandez - Illas, M.D., Principal Investigator, is board certified in Internal Medicine & Rheumatology. She has actively pursued private practice and clinical research since finishing fellowship at University of Miami in 2004. Since that time she has conducted over 70 trials focused in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Myositis, Diabetes, Cardiovascular. She joined the team at Elite in 2010.

Armando Segui, M.D., Sub-Investigator, was Board Certified in General Surgery, in Cuba, in 1989, and, since 1999, he practices General Medicine in the USA. He participated in multiple Clinical Trials in Surgery, while he was in Cuba, as Sub- Investigator and Principal Investigator. Before, obtaining his Medical License in Florida, he worked as a Lead Clinical Research Coordinator. His clinical trial experience includes Arthritis, Psychiatric Disorders, Flu, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Diabetes, Hypertension, and Diagnostic tests, among others. He joined the Elite Team in early 2011.

Staff Expertise

Maria D. Revoredo, RN, BSN, CCRC, President, Clinical Director has over 13 years of clinical research experience. She has expanded her clinical experience from having worked as a Site Director for a Phase I unit to a Clinical Research Associate. Her clinical research experience is in various therapeutic areas and she has been involved in over 300 clinical trials.

The clinical research staff at Elite Research Institute collectively has over 75 years of clinical research experience in Phase I/II trials. Our staff is very well trained in all aspects of research including ICH/GCP guidelines and FDA regulations. The staff is encouraged to actively develop their personal potential to enrich their individual contribution to the performance of the center. We collaborate as a team on every study to provide the best service to our patients and sponsors. The clinical research team is a bilingual staff that consists of the following:
