Center Overview

Upstate Pharmaceutical Research is a dedicated Phase I-IV research site, founded in 2000. Located in Greenville, SC, Upstate Pharmaceutical Research is very close to Patewood Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital. Upstate Pharmaceutical Research staff has many years of combined research experience. We are dedicated to following Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and meeting all FDA requirements. PI and coordinators are certified by A.C.R.P. Our patients feel we care for them because we believe "patients first," and we continue to work hard, learn, and grow. Our PI is involved in true sense, which makes our center unique.

Upstate Pharmaceutical Research services include:

  • Five full-time coordinators submitting documents promptly
  • Study Manager software program to include database housing, accounting capabilities and patient tracking
  • Patient database of over 20,000
  • Referral base of over 12,000 from busy family practices
  • The ability to use central IRB’s and prompt submission, less than a week
  • Dedicated regulatory person
  • Experience with PK, sampling, time points, frequent spirometries, plethysmography, and oxycon bicycle ergometry
  • We even work on Saturdays to accommodate our patients
  • We have several sub specialists, PI, and sub PI’s include cardiovascular, Ob-Gyn, GI, Psychiatry, Ortho, Podiatry, Neurology, and Dermatology
  • Compliance and Retention is our goal

10,000 sq. foot dedicated space Phase I-IV research facility and less than half a mile from Patewood Memorial Hospital: 30 Pointe Circle

  • Comfortable lounge areas accommodating patients for all-day studies, including beds and showers

  • Temperature controlled, secured storage rooms for drugs, separate secure storage for refrigerated drugs

  • Pulmonary Function Lab with DLCO, body phlethysmography, 6 minute walk, bicycle ergometry
  • Full Laboratory with -20 and -70 freezers

Medical Criteria

Principal Investigator:
Krishna K. Pudi, MD is board certified in internal medicine. He has 16 years total of research experience. Dr. Pudi was the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program at the Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
