Via Christi Research conducts dedicated research for Via Christi Health, the largest healthcare provider in Kansas.
Its location adjacent to Via Christi’s midtown hospital – a 400 bed, community-based, academically-affiliated, tertiary care center providing an array of specialty and sub-specialty care – positions Via Christi Research to recruit appropriate volunteers through Via Christi Health and business partners in compliance with FDA, GCP and IRB guidelines for pharmaceutical and medical device research.
Our affiliation with Via Christi Clinic provides access to more than 170 doctors in more than 40 specialties at 15 locations in Sedgwick, Harvey and Butler counties. More than a half million patient visits were made to Via Christi Clinic in 2012. Research staff work at the midtown Clinical Research Unit, hospital and Clinic sites.
In the past 24 years, we have conducted more than 600 trials and worked with over 60 Sponsors in all phases (I-IV) of clinical drug and device trials, specializing in cardiovascular, CNS, rheumatology, pulmonology, critical care, GI, infectious diseases, neurology, epilepsy and psychiatry. Each year we typically conduct at least 50 clinical trials across all areas of medicine, and offer Sponsors a prime site for in-patient drug trials in our twelve-bed Phase I clinical research unit. Before becoming a department of Via Christi, we achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification, and continue those quality-centered and cost-effective practices to meet Sponsor needs Located in Wichita – Kansas' largest city – Via Christi Research is served by Wichita Mid-Continent Airport with six national airlines. Via Christi Research offers a full-time staff of clinical nurse coordinators, regulatory specialists, business specialists, and scientists ready to complete any trial with quality and efficiency. Our dedicated Regulatory Affairs staff provides a capable, attentive interface with the Via Christi IRB, central IRBs, CROs, and Sponsors. Ten clinical coordinators – each CCRC credentialed – bring a wide range of clinical research experience to each project. Our regulatory staff are both IRB certified. Our business specialists manage contracts, budgets, accounts, and cultivate principal investigators for future endeavors. Our scientists help physicians design investigator initiated protocols, provide statistical expertise, and prepare findings for publication.
Via Christi Research is located in Wichita, Kansas with an area population of half a million. Kansas City, Oklahoma City and Tulsa are four hours by car, increasing Via Christi Research’s catchment area to more than four million people. We receive referrals from clinics at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, private practice physicians, community mental health clinics, and the local VA Hospital (part of VISN 15).
