CMX Research Inc. is a Site Management Organization (SMO), professionally and effectively conducting pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device research at our 50 sites in Canada. Our Services cover a broad range of study conduct activities that meet FDA, HPB and ICH standards. Our research efforts are segmented into clinical specialties to better serve our clients. Facility Description

Each of the CMX Research sites is integrated into our investigators’ clinical practices. As such, they offer an attractive setting, close to public transport. Each site has been selected to ensure ready access to clinical laboratory and diagnostic imaging capabilities as well as other equipment relevant to their particular specialties. All sites also understand that, as partners in clinical development with our sponsors, we are part of a team and we pride ourselves in working in a professional and courteous manner.

Staff Expertise

Our President and Medical Director
Dr. Richard Casey, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C), is the founder and Medical Director of CMX Research Inc. and The Male Health Centres, a treatment network offering comprehensive services in sexual medicine and prostate disorders for men. He and his professional team have participated in numerous clinical research trials and have extended their organization to include a variety of medical specialties. Dr. Casey contributes his considerable expertise and a progressive leadership style to the on-going research effort in medical therapeutics.

Vice President, Corporate Development
Dr. Jack Barkin, MD, FRCS(C), FICS, FACS, DABU, is the Urologist in Chief at the Humber River Regional Hospital, the Director of The Male Health Centre in Toronto and sits on the Faculty in the Division of Urology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Barkin facilitates new and ongoing business development opportunities in diagnostics and in Phase II - III clinical trials.

Vice President, Clinical Services
Ms. Vilija Rasutis received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chicago, IL as well as a B.A degree in LTC from Athabasca, Alberta. Vilija has worked in the clinical trial business for 15 years both in acute care and community focused research settings. She oversees the daily operations of CMX Research Inc., and is responsible for managing corporate business development efforts, business modeling, proposal development and contract management. Vilija is committed to supporting industry partnerships through new initiatives such as the recently launched “Global Research Coordinator Placement” service which provides highly trained and skilled CRCs to sites. Emphasis in business modeling is on continuity and excellence in research.

Vice President, Contract Research Services
Zsuzsanna Gesztesi is a Medical Doctor with extensive international experience and success in management of Phase I-II, BA/BE, Special Populations and Late Stage (Phase II-IV) clinical trials; medical monitoring; clinical data validation; pre- and post marketing drug safety reporting; process and business development. She is instrumental in directing best business practices, enjoying success in driving positive outcomes. She has comprehensive experience in systems development and life cycle management of products and services. Zsuzsanna currently heads the Contract Research Division of CMX Research and the primary contact for clients. She is responsible for the day to day operations of the division including business development, project management, medical writing and process development.

As CMX Research Network Administrator, Shelagh Saunders co-ordinates site surveys, site payments and other administrative tasks

Patient Demographics

CMX Research sites draw patients from both our investigators own clinical practices and the local surrounding populations. Currently our total site direct patient population exceeds 200,000 with an additional 3.5 million patients within 20 miles of our sites. Canada has a tremendously varied ethic background in our population and we can offer a truly homogeneous pool of participants to draw from.
