CURE: Digestive Diseases Research Center
The CURE: Digestive Diseases Research Center is composed of a cohesive group of physicians and basic scientists with strong independent grant-supported research programs in the biology of the gut, with special emphasis upon regulation of mucosal cell function and gut neuroscience. CURE first received NIDDK funding in 1974 as a center to study peptic ulcer disease and became a Digestive Disease Core Center in 1989. The research emphasis of the Center is acquisition of new knowledge about cellular and physiological processes that control gut function and translation of this knowledge into development of therapy for patients with gastrointestinal diseases.
Digestive Disease National Coalition
The Digestive Disease National Coalition (DDNC) is an advocacy organization comprised of the major national voluntary and professional societies concerned with digestive diseases. The DDNC focuses on improving public policy related to digestive diseases and increasing public awareness with respect to the many diseases of the digestive system. The DDNC was founded in 1978 and is based in Washington D.C.

Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation
The Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation (GIRF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for clinical and laboratory research in digestive diseases in the Gastroenterology Section at the University of Chicago Medical Center. GIRF provides funds for equipment, laboratories and support of investigators and young physicians in the University of Chicago GI Section, a group of full-time dedicated doctors who seek solutions to all kinds of gastrointestinal illnesses, affecting the esophagus, the stomach, the small intestine, the large intestine, the liver, the gallbladder, and the pancreas.
North American Society for Pediactric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition
