Ablynx, Merck expand partnership

Ablynx has further expanded its relationship with Merck Serono and entered into a third agreement to co-discover and co-develop Nanobodies against two targets in osteoarthritis. Rempex raises $67.5 million in Series B financing

Rempex Pharmaceuticals has completed the initial closing of a Series B financing.  New investors Frazier Healthcare Ventures and Vivo Ventures joined existing investors SV Life Sciences, OrbiMed Advisors and Adams Street Partners in committing to a total of $67.5 million for this round.  This financing, together with a previous Series A round, brings the total financing commitment for Rempex to $76 million since the company's founding in June 2011.

NeuroDerm's Parkinson's trial meets primary endpoints

NeuroDerm has reported the results of a phase I/II safety and pharmacokinetic trial of ND0611, administered as an adjunct therapy to Sinemet-CR, Sinemet or Stalevo, in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease. ND0611 is a proprietary carbidopa liquid formula administered sub-cutaneously via a dermal patch to increase the bioavailability and efficacy of orally- administered levodopa. Results of this study support the continued development of ND0611 for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

In his new role, Hoffman will have strategic oversight for Theorem’s core CRO operation, including project management, clinical monitoring, SMART (site management and patient recruitmenT), and pharmaceutics. He will also oversee the company’s medical operations.
