Shire partners with Shionogi to develop ADHD medicines

Shire has entered into an agreement with Shionogi & Co. of Japan to co-develop and co-commercialize certain of Shire's Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) medicines in Japan. Shionogi will pay a one time fee and share costs with Shire in exchange for rights to jointly co-develop and co-commercialize the products upon approval for the Japanese market. Specific terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.

Chapple joins Quanticate

Quanticate has named Dr. Daniel Chapple vice pesident of business development and marketing, effective immediately.  He will report to Quanticate's chairman and chief executive officer David Underwood and will be based out of Quanticate’s offices in the UK and Boston, MA. In his new role, Chapple will be responsible for working with the leadership team to further develop the Centralized Clinical Data Sciences solution which is focused on the importance of data to successfully gain approval and market new products through the use of technology coupled with highly skilled statisticians, programmers, data managers, medical writers and pharmacovigilance experts.

Kenexa, a global provider of business solutions for human resources, has reported that Eli Lilly will be using Kenexa’s global recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) services in some of the major markets where Lilly conducts business globally. The five year engagement represents Kenexa’s largest global RPO partnership, and also includes Kenexa’s onboarding, recruiting, assessment, and survey solutions and employment branding.

FDA approves high dose anti-depressant

The FDA has approved IntelGenx' lead product, CPI-300, for patients with Major Depressive Disorder. CPI-300 is a novel, high-strength formulation of Bupropion hydrochloride (HCl), the active ingredient in Wellbutrin XL. CPI-300 is the only single dose 450 mg formulation of Bupropion HCl approved by the FDA.
