Bristol Myers enters clinical collaboration with Tibotec

Bristol-Myers Squibb has entered into a clinical collaboration agreement with Tibotec Pharmaceuticals, one of the Janssen Pharmaceutical companies, to evaluate the utility of daclatasvir (BMS-790052), Bristol-Myers Squibb’s investigational NS5A replication complex inhibitor, in combination with Tibotec Pharmaceuticals' investigational NS3 protease inhibitor, TMC435, for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV).

arGEN-X has closed a $37 million Series B fundraising round, which was oversubscribed. The fundraising was co-led by OrbiMed Advisors (USA) and Seventure Partners (France), with the existing shareholders Forbion Capital Partners, Credit Agricole Private Equity, LSP, BioGeneration Ventures, the Erasmus Biomedical Fund, Thuja Capital and VIB also participating. OrbiMed's founding partner, Dr Mike Sheffery, will join the arGEN-X Supervisory Board.

Quintiles, Prodia partner to provide central lab testing in Indonesia

Quintiles has reported an expanded partnership with Jakarta-based Prodia Clinical Laboratory, through its sister company Prodia the CRO, to facilitate rapid testing of samples from patients in clinical trials in Indonesia. This will allow Quintiles’ biopharmaceutical customers to conduct clinical research in Indonesia and help establish the potential benefits of new medicines in the Indonesian population while contributing to global programs.
