Merck establishes R&D headquarters in China

Merck, known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, has established an Asia research & development headquarters for innovative drug discovery and development located in Beijing, China. The new facility is part of a $1.5 billion commitment the company has made to invest in R&D in China over the next five years.

RaySearch enters agreement with Chinese distributor

RaySearch Laboratories has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with the Chinese distributor Kang Li Da Trading, based in Beijing. The agreement means that Kang Li Da will be fully responsible for marketing, sales and service for RaySearch’s proprietary treatment planning system RayStation on the entire Chinese market.

The agreement means that OTS will be fully responsible for marketing, sales and service for RaySearch’s proprietary treatment planning system RayStation on the South Korean market.

Shire partners with Shionogi to develop ADHD medicines

Shire has entered into an agreement with Shionogi & Co. of Japan to co-develop and co-commercialize certain of Shire's Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) medicines in Japan. Shionogi will pay a one time fee and share costs with Shire in exchange for rights to jointly co-develop and co-commercialize the products upon approval for the Japanese market. Specific terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
