Pearl IRB expands into compliance and consulting

Indianapolis-based Pearl IRB is expanding. The commercial institutional review board, launched just last year, is now adding a regulatory and compliance division, as well as a consulting division that will focus on helping life sciences startups.

Pearl IRB, Trafalgar Ethics Board join forces

With the multi-center global clinical trials trend continuing to grow, the U.S. and Canada accounted for 60.5% of sponsored trials in 2010. To deliver integrated U.S.-Canada study reviews, Pearl IRB, based in Indianapolis, and Toronto-based Trafalgar Ethics Board have joined forces.

First commercial IRB opens in Indiana to fill geographic gap and attract clinical research

Indiana now has its first commercial Institutional Review Board (IRB). Indiana and its surrounding region, that is. Diana Caldwell and Gretchen Miller Bowker—both Eli Lilly alum and former coworkers at the regulatory compliance consultancy Safis Solutions—have launched Pearl IRB to fill what they say is the commercial IRB gap that stretches north to Minneapolis, east to Philadelphia, south to Cincinnati and west all the way to San Diego.
