PCORI approves $102M in support of 46 new research projects

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), a Wash. D.C.-based independent nonprofit organization, has approved 46 new proposals, totaling nearly $102 million in support, to fund a wide range of patient-centered clinical comparative effectiveness research (CER) projects.

DuchenneConnect to join new national clinical research network

DuchenneConnect, a program of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), has been awarded $970,000 by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to take part in developing a health data network. DuchenneConnect will be part of PCORnet: the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network. The DuchenneConnect network is one of 29 networks that were approved for PCORnet. The formation of the new national PCORnet resource aims to boost the efficiency of health research.

PCORI approves $191 million for patient-centered comparative effectiveness research

The independent, nonprofit Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) has approved a total of $97.3 million in new funding for 53 comparative effectiveness research (CER) studies designed to answer questions important to patients and those who care for them. It also has approved $93.5 million to build and expand the individual research data networks that will form PCORnet, a new, national, patient-centered clinical research network to facilitate CER.
