Parexel's Q1 Revenue, Net Income Slips

Parexel's first quarter consolidated service revenue dipped 1.2% to $259.8 million, compared with $263 million in the prior year period. Net income also slipped to $12.4 million, or $0.21 per diluted share, compared with net income of $13.6 million, or $0.23 per diluted share, for the year ago quarter.

Parexel International, a global contract research organization (CRO), reported an 8% increase in service revenue for its third quarter, flat quarterly profits, but raised its profit outlook for 2009. The CRO’s shares jumped 17.7% in after hours trading to $9.51 a share after closing Monday at $8.08.

Hoppe will handle Parexel’s IT initiatives and manage the integration of technology solutions with global business processes.
