Luminex, a developer of proprietary instruments and assays, has signed an agreement to acquire GenturaDx, a Hayward, Calif.-based molecular diagnostics company focused on making nucleic acid testing both affordable and practical for any laboratory.

GenturaDx names scientific advisory board

GenturaDx has created its scientific advisory board with three initial members: Dr. Keith Jerome, Dr. Steven Miller, and Dr. Gregory Tsongalis. The board will provide expert perspectives across science, laboratory medicine and the commercial market related to initial test development and future applications of the company's proprietary IDbox(TM). The IDbox system is set to begin clinical trials in 2012.
