Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center appoints new board members

Former Washington governor Chris Gregoire has been appointed to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's board of trustees. In addition to serving two terms as governor, Gregoire served three terms as attorney general. She is among four new Fred Hutch board members appointed for fiscal year 2013-2014, which brings the total number of those serving from 16 to 20. Their terms begin July.

Hutchinson Center to lead $20 million HIV research grant

Whether a stem cell transplant using an HIV-infected person’s own genetically modified immune cells can become a cure for the disease is the focus of a new $20 million, five-year research grant award announced by the National Institutes of Health to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
