Astellas, DNDi collaborate on drug discovery research treating NTDs

Astellas Pharma of Tokyo, Japan, and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), a not-for-profit R&D organization focused on neglected diseases, have formed a drug discovery research collaboration for leishmaniasis, Chagas disease and sleeping sickness — three neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) which together affect nearly 10 million people worldwide.

Thirteen pharmaceutical companies, the U.S., U.K. and U.A.E governments, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank and other global health organizations will join forces to eliminate or control 10 neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) by the end of the decade.

Sanofi, DNDi collaborate on new drugs for neglected tropical diseases

French health care company Sanofi has announced a three-year research collaboration agreement with Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative or DNDi, an independent, nonprofit product development partnership, according to RTT News.
