UK’s DNR to build clinical trials database for diabetes

Beaumont Health System launches national breast cancer study

Beaumont Health System has launched national research of accelerated whole breast radiation treatment for women with early-stage breast cancer. The study, RTOG 1005, was developed by the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, a cancer therapy research cooperative group funded by the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Skyline, Clavis collaborate in Leukemia research

The Dutch biotech company Skyline Diagnostics and the Norwegian drug development company Clavis Pharma have signed a research agreement. Under this agreement, Skyline will investigate gene expression biomarkers for selection of individual Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients that may benefit from a new AML drug in development at Clavis. This drug, elacytarabine, is a novel elaidic acid derivative of cytarabine and currently undergoing the CLAVELA phase III study for treatment of patients with relapsed/refractory AML.
