Prostate Cancer Foundation Invests in Young Investigators

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) boosted its efforts to encourage young investigators to focus on cancer research by awarding $4.5 million in research grants to 21 young investigators at cancer centers in the U.S. and Canada.

Dedicated Phase I in Phoenix, Ariz., named a new chief medical officer to head its 80-bed phase I clinical research facility. Clark Springgate, M.D., Ph.D., brings more than 25 years' experience to the organization, having directed and participated in more than 256 clinical trials, including first-in-man and first-in-therapeutic-class studies.

Parexel Expands Ethnobridging Capabilities

Contract research organization (CRO) Parexel recently completed one of the first Chinese bridging studies to be conducted outside of China at the CRO’s Los Angeles facility. The study, conducted this spring, is one of a number of ethnobridging studies being pioneered by California Clinical Trials (CCT), which Parexel acquired two years ago.
