Northwest Biotherapeutics, a Bethesda, Md.-based biotechnology company developing DCVax personalized immune therapies for cancer, has initiated a collaboration with U.K.-based cancer institutions Sarah Cannon Research U.K. and Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC) on a phase I/II trial with DCVax-Direct for metastatic colon cancer.

Biothera names chief medical officer

Biothera has named Patricia Molloy, M.D., chief medical officer. In this role, Molloy is responsible for the clinical development of Imprime PGG, the company’s immunotherapeutic oncology drug that is currently in multiple clinical trials for colorectal and lung cancer and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
