Factor Bioscience awarded two NIH grants for Alzheimer's research

The National Institutes of Health, through the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, has awarded Factor Bioscience, a developer of cell-based therapeutics and research tools, two Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants to accelerate the development of new treatments for Alzheimer's disease.

IMI creates platform to discover novel medicines

In an effort to speed up the discovery of new medicines, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) has created the European Lead Factory, a Europe-wide public-private partnership that combines the Joint European Compound Collection, a comprehensive collection of candidate drug molecules, with an industry-like screening center.

Re-accredited Russian investigative sites jump to almost 600 under new regulations’ Sept. 1 deadline

The number of investigative sites that have been re-accredited by the Russian Ministry of Health (MoH)—a requirement inherent in the country’s new regulations—is now up to almost 600, according to the Association of Clinical Trials Organizations (ACTO), a trade group for those working in research in Russia.
