eClinicalWorks chooses Exostar’s new identity proofing authentication service

Exostar, a Herndon, Va.-based information technology company offering cloud-based solutions that enable secure, cost-effective business-to-business collaboration, has launched its new turn-key, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) identity proofing and second factor credential authentication solution, ProviderPass. eClinicalWorks, a Westborough, Mass.-based provider of ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, has selected ProviderPass to expand its comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) product suite to include electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS).

Cepheid, FIND, Rutgers collaborate on Xpert MTB/RIF test

Cepheid, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based molecular diagnostics company, FIND, a Switzerland-based international nonprofit organization and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School are collaborating to develop Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra, a next-generation test for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) with increased sensitivity to aid in detection of patients with smear-negative TB, which often is associated with HIV co-infection. The collaboration also is receiving additional support from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the NIH.

Center for Connected Health, Daiichi Sankyo ink mobile app agreement

The Center for Connected Health, a division of Partners HealthCare, a Boston-based healthcare delivery system founded by Harvard Medical School affiliated teaching institutions Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, has announced a co-development agreement with Japanese pharmaceutical Daiichi Sankyo to create a mobile app to serve as a coaching platform for patients with atrial fibrillation who have been prescribed oral anticoagulation therapy.
