The Almac Group and Greenphire have reported that Almac’s Clinical Technologies business unit, the provider of IXRS (Interactive Voice and Web Response) services relating to patient and drug supply management, has formed an exclusive alliance with Greenphire to offer joint services relating to patient payment administration for clinical trials. This new service improves current methods of manual patient payment management and alleviates administrative burden on personnel in biopharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations, allowing them to focus on more study-specific responsibilities.

UK’s DNR to build clinical trials database for diabetes

FDA puts Immunomedics’ pancreatic cancer trial on hold

Immunomedics, a biopharmaceutical company primarily focused on the development of monoclonal antibody-based products for the targeted treatment of cancer, autoimmune and other serious diseases, been notified by the FDA that a partial clinical hold has been placed on the company’s phase Ib/II clinical trial of clivatuzumab tetraxetan in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, due to the administration of an incorrect dose to a patient enrolled at one of its trial sites.

Cardio3 establishes US subsidiary

Belgian cardiac cell therapies firm Cardio3 BioSciences established a U.S. subsidiary in Rochester, MN, to support its clinical and development activities and to bolster existing links with the Mayo Clinic and other U.S. collaborators, according to GEN News. Cardio3’s lead product, C3BS-CQR-1 is a stem cell-based cardiac lineage in clinical development for the treatment of heart failure. Phase III studies are projected to start in 2012.
