Quintiles appoints Stella Blackburn to lead global risk management

Quintiles has appointed Stella Blackburn, M.B. B.S., vice president and global head of Risk Management for its Real-World & Late Phase Research group. Blackburn will be responsible for leading the group’s risk management efforts in the U.S., E.U., Australia and Canada. Blackburn also will develop multidisciplinary risk management services, review and assist with interpretation of pharmacovigilance legislation and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices in the conduct of pharmacovigilance and risk management activities for the company’s real-world and late phase research efforts.

Accelrys Science Council adds three new fellows

Accelrys, a provider of scientific innovation lifecycle management software and solutions, has appointed Johan Carlsson, Anne Goupil-Lamy and Kate Lusczakoski as fellows on the Accelrys Science Council. Carlsson, Goupil-Lamy and Lusczakoski respectively bring to the council in-depth knowledge and experience in materials modeling, life sciences research and the use of data analysis to improve process understanding. The three new fellows join Marc Meunier and Senior Fellows Hugues-Olivier Bertrand, Victor Milman and Justin Neway as thought leaders on the Accelrys Science Council, which is charged with guiding the direction and sustaining the high standard of company-wide scientific innovation along the spectrum from research to manufacturing.

Minerva Neurosciences, a developer of new therapies to treat neuropsychiatric diseases and disorders, has launched the new company web site (www.minervaneurosciences.com) following the successful transfer of the Minerva Neurosciences corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Cambridge, Mass. The establishment of a new corporate headquarters follows the recent appointment of Rogerio Vivaldi, M.D., MBA, as the new president and CEO, and Marc Beer as the new chairman of the board of directors of Minerva Neurosciences. The company was founded in 2013 by the merger of Cyrenaic Pharmaceuticals and Sonkei Pharmaceuticals.
