The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) has expanded accreditation in the U.S. and internationally, as a diverse group of hospitals, inde-pendent institutional review boards, and an academic center earned accreditation at the June meeting of its Council on Accreditation.

AAHRPP awarded full accreditation to five hospitals—Baystate Health, Springfield, Mass.; Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio; The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio; and The Catholic University of Korea Catholic Medical Center and Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea.

Also receiving full accreditation were two independent institutional review boards—Alpha Independent Review, San Clemente, Calif., and IRB Company, Buena Park, Calif.—and the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, Mass.

The new organizations bring the total number of accredited organizations to 214, covering more than 1,000 different entities.
