Parexel Names New CIO

Josephine Hoppe has joined contract research organization (CRO) Parexel as corporate vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Hoppe will handle Parexel’s IT initiatives and manage the integration of technology solutions with global business processes. Prior to joining Parexel, Hoppe was the CIO of Pegasystems, a business process management company.

In other personnel news from the clinical trial industry:

The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) both appointed new chairs for 2009.

ACRP elected David Vulcano chair of the Association Board of Trustees, replacing 2008 chair Deborah Lasher. Vulcano is assistant vice president for clinical research with Hospital Corporation of America in Nashville, Tenn.

Derek Winstanly, executive vice president of strategic business partnerships at Quintiles, is ACRO’s newly named chair for 2009. William Sharbaugh, chief operating officer at PPD, is chair-elect. 

Imaging CRO WorldCare Clinical (WCC) has appointed Richard Walovitch as chief medical officer. Walovitch was senior vice president of clinical research at Acusphere before joining WCC.
