Thomasell Named ACRP Executive Director

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 08:52 AM

James D. Thomasell, former acting president and CEO of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), has been named the new executive director of the association.

Thomasell serves as its primary resource for providing mission-focused leadership and global organizational management.

His responsibilities also include directing the activities of ACRP’s affiliate organizations, the Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators and the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals.

Thomasell has 20 years of strategic leadership experience in a variety of organizations and in several capacities at ACRP. Prior to his role as acting president and CEO, he served ACRP as the director of finance and administration for more than three years.

“In just a short time, Jim’s expertise and leadership have added considerable value to the organization,” said David Vulcano, chair of the Association Board of Trustees for ACRP. “His combination of passion and focus are exactly what the organization needs to bring the Association to the next level, advance our mission, and lead ACRP, APPI, and the Academy into the future. We are fortunate to have a dynamic leader during this time of such great opportunity and growth for our organization.”

Thomasell said, “In this role, I look to collaborate with the dedicated volunteers of the organization, our staff, and the clinical research community to strengthen the organization and advance our mission.”
