BRANY, ViS Research partner to streamline feasibility

Friday, June 28, 2013 01:45 PM

The Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY), a network of clinical research sites in the U.S., has collaborated with ViS Research, which offers an online research feasibility platform that eliminates feasibility questionnaires, to help researchers by reducing their administrative tasks related to feasibility questionnaires while providing faster and easier trial startup.

Clinical trials are necessary for the development of new medical therapies, but can be delayed because sponsors struggle to understand the capabilities of sites. The collaboration joins two systems to gather and process information needed for research center evaluation and study startup.

“Our partnership with ViS Research will enhance our ability to offer BRANY certified research sites innovative technology-based solutions to improve efficiencies in the site selection process," said Kimberley Irvine, executive vice president of operations for BRANY.

To find the right centers, trial planners send out feasibility questionnaires that are often never filled out or returned. These questionnaires are still necessary because planners do not have all the necessary information about sites, investigators and locations, and often the information available is inaccurate, outdated or non-existent.

The partnership offers a model for research site selection. BRANY will leverage the live analytics provided by ViS Research, including site capabilities, investigators and location, to provide faster, more efficient  startup.
