Qualia Acquires Early Stage Facility in Kiev

Taking note of sponsors looking to Eastern Europe for early stage services, Omaha, Neb.–based contract research organization (CRO) Qualia Clinical Services has acquired a 60–bed, 10,000–square–foot early stage clinical facility in Kiev. The unit was purchased from a small CRO in the Ukraine.

Homecare Trial Services Provider Clinical Resource Network Raises Capital

Working with an uncommon business model, Illinois–based Clinical Resource Network (CRN), a provider of homecare services for clinical trials, aims to tackle the industry's patient recruitment problems with a simple solution. It takes the trial to the patients. Now with an infusion of capital from WHI Capital Partners, a Chicago–based private equity firm, the company is gaining traction.
