Friday, June 1, 2012 12:27 PM

Cromsource, an international full service CRO, has acquired Pleiad, an international CRO with offices in the Cambridge, Mass., and Stirling, Scotland.

Pleiad, launched in 1999, supports clients in multiple therapy areas and with dedicated medical device and ophthalmology divisions. Additionally, Pleiad encompasses particularly strong capabilities within statistics and data management.

“For some time we have wanted to expand and consolidate our presence in the U.S. and we have now found the perfect way to do so,” said Dr. Oriana Zerbini, CEO of Cromsource. “The opportunity to further add to our U.K. team and expand our team of experts in data management and statistics is also of great importance to us. With this collaboration, Cromsource reinforces its capability to support our clients with even the largest of development programs in both Europe and the U.S.”

Dr. Helen Colquhoun, former president of Pleiad, will become senior vice president of Cromsource.
