Rathnam Chaguturu joins SRI International

Rathnam Chaguturu, Ph.D., has joined SRI International's Center for Advanced Drug Research (CADRE) as senior director of exploratory research. Chaguturu will partner with SRI's drug discovery and development teams and expand collaborative research relationships with academia, disease foundations, nonprofits and government agencies.

Previously, Chaguturu held director positions at Sierra Sciences in drug discovery and at the University of Kansas in High Throughput Screening Laboratory. He also led discovery research efforts at FMC for more than 20 years, where he was instrumental in designing the industry-first Zymark robotic screening platform for lead discovery.

Chaguturu has authored more than 50 research publications, holds 11 U.S. patents and is editor-in-chief of the journal Combinatorial Chemistry and High Throughput Screening. He is also one of the founding members of the Society for Biomolecular Sciences and the founding president of the International Chemical Biology Society.
