ACRP elects association trustees

The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) has elected the following individuals to serve two-year terms on its 13-member board of trustees, as of Jan. 1, 2012:

Brent Ibata, Ph.D., JD, MPH, RAC, CCRC (first term) is a clinical research professional with over a decade of experience from preclinical through all phases of human clinical trials, including both in-patient and out-patient studies. Ibata is a former project manager of a $5.3 million Department of Defense clinical research study and is an experienced member of several national clinical research committees. Currently, he is director of operations for Sentara Heart Hospital.

Jeff Kingsley, DO, MBA, MS, CPI, FAAFP (first term) has been director of several departments at Columbus Regional Healthcare System and holds faculty positions with the Medical College of Georgia. Kingsley became a full-time medical researcher upon founding Southeast Regional Research Group in 2005. He also founded SERRG, a research management organization, and the Institute for the Advancement of Clinical Trials, a research consulting organization.

Dennis LaCroix, JD (first term) has taught at Boston University, Suffolk University Law School and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA). He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court. Most recently, LaCroix served as vice president of legal at Genzyme. He has served as a member and chair for both the ACRP's editorial advisory board for its publication, The Monitor, and ACRP's nominating committee.

Lynn Van Dermark, R.N., BSN, MBA, CCRA, RAC (first term) is co-founder and CEO of MedTrials. She is a well-known industry speaker and entrepreneur and has taught at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Currently, Dermark serves on the Nursing Advisory Board for the University of Virginia School of Nursing. Dermark is a two-term member of the editorial advisory board for The Monitor and has contributed as a guest editor.

Norbert Clemens, M.D., Ph.D. (second term) is a board certified physiologist and a member of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research. Currently he is head of clinical development at CRS Mannheim in Germany. Previously he was medical director for Intersan, PAION and Valeant Pharmaceuticals International; and general manager and head of global clinical trial services at Analytica International. He currently is a board member of the R&D section of the German Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Teresa-Lynn (Terri) Hinkley, R.N., BScN, MBA, CCRC (second term) is the director of clinical operations for Helix BioPharma. She has over 16 years of clinical research experience in the CRO and pharmaceutical industry and continues to practice nursing in the Emergency Department of Rouge Valley Health System: Centenary in Toronto. Hinkley has been a member of ACRP since 1996, as well as past-president of the Canadian chapter.


Liz Wool, R.N., BSN, CCRA, CMT (second term) is president and CEO of QD-Quality and Training Solutions and has worked for 19 years in the product development industry, including positions in biotech and pharmaceutical companies, investigative sites, CROs and academia. She serves on the ACRP regulatory affairs committee and the editorial advisory board for The Monitor.
