i3 Research Acquires Russian CRO and i3 Innovus Creates Late Phase Business

i3 Global is solidifying its presence in Russia through the acquisition of Lege Artis, a Moscow-based contract research organization (CRO). Lege Artis conducts phase I through IV trials in Russia and also has operations in Belarus and Ukraine. The CRO is led by its founder and chief executive officer Tatjana Zwereva, M.D., Ph.D., who will stay on with i3 to run the operation. Alexander Makarkov, M.D., Ph.D., a co-founder, will also be joining i3. Lege Artis will be integrated within i3’s contract research division at i3 Research.

Quintiles Consulting Begins New Path with Eidetics Acquisition

Research Triangle Park, N.C.-based Quintiles took another step in its efforts to expand the CRO’s consulting group through the purchase of biopharma-ceutical consulting firm Eidetics. The firm will be integrated into Quintiles Consulting, a 150-employee company with experts from nearly every segment of the pharmaceutical industry. Eidetics performs health economics, decision-analytics and market research services to help sponsors maximize their products post-launch.
