Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation, Inc.

The Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AA&MDSIF) is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to support patients, families, and caregivers coping with Aplastic Anemia (AA), Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), and related bone marrow failure diseases.

Cardeza Foundation for Hematologic Research

Members of the Division of Hematology and The Cardeza Foundation for Hematologic Research are devoted to research into the causes of a wide variety of diseases of the blood and to the diagnosis and care of patients with blood and Ivmphatic diseases. Our members have competence in all areas of hematology, with particularly well recognized depth and experience in diseases affecting blood platelets, hemorrhagic (bleeding) and thrombotic (clotting) disorders, hematologic malignancies (leukemia, Iymphoma and multiple myeloma) and other bone marrow disorders. In addition, our physicians have initiated and participate in a number of clinical trials of newer types of therapy for many of these disorders. Our physicians are available on a 24 hour basis.

Cooleys's Anemia Foundation

Our mission is advancing the treatment and cure for this fatal blood disease, enhancing the quality of life of patients and educating the medical profession, trait carriers and the public about Cooley's anemia/thalassemia major.

International Myeloma Foundation

The IMF is dedicated to improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working toward prevention and a cure.

National Heart, Blood and Lung Institute Information Center

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) provides leadership for a national program in diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lung, and blood; blood resources; and sleep disorders. Since October 1997, the NHLBI has also had administrative responsibility for the NIH Woman's Health Initiative. The Institute plans, conducts, fosters, and supports an integrated and coordinated program of basic research, clinical investigations and trials, observational studies, and demonstration and education projects. Research is related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, blood vessel, lung, and blood diseases; and sleep disorders. The NHLBI plans and directs research in development and evaluation of interventions and devices related to prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from such diseases and disorders. It also supports research on clinical use of blood and all aspects of the management of blood resources. Research is conducted in the Institute's own laboratories and by scientific institutions and individuals supported by research grants and contracts.

Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. (SCDAA)

To advocate for and enhance our membership's ability to improve the quality of health, life and services for individuals, families and communities affected by sickle cell disease and related conditions, while promoting the search for a cure for all people in the world with sickle cell disease.
