Social Anxiety Disorder Research Study
Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD, formerly called social phobia) is
a serious illness affecting more than seven million individuals in
the US and Canada. Individuals with social anxiety disorder
experience extreme anxiety and fear of everyday social situations.
Their anxiety can interfere with work, school, and daily life,
[disrupting their lives/holding them back].
We are seeking adults ages 18 to 65 with social anxiety disorder
(SAD) for participation in a clinical research study. The purpose
of this research study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness
of an investigational medication for SAD.
Participation in this research study may include the following
at no cost:
- Approximately 19 weeks of participation
- As many as 15 visits to a local physician's office
- Study-related examinations
- Study-related laboratory tests
- Study-related medication
