Trial Information

A Randomized Phase III Trial of Doxorubicin/Cisplatin/Paclitaxel and G-CSF versus Carboplatin/Paclitaxel in Patients with Stage III & IV or Recurrent Endometrial Cancer [GOG0209]

This research study is for women who have been diagnosed with cancer of the endometrium (lining of the womb) that cannot be treated with surgery or radiation therapy. The purpose of this study is to find out whether treatment with the two-drug combination of carboplatin and paclitaxel is as good as the current standard three-drug combination of cisplatin, doxorubicin, and paclitaxel. Study participants will be randomly assigned (by chance) to receive either the 2-drug or the 3-drug combination.

Patient Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:

You may be eligible to participate if you
-are 18 years of age or older
-have been diagnosed with Stage 3 or 4 endometrial cancer
-meet additional criteria

You will not be eligible to participate if you
-currently have an additional type of cancer other than skin cancer
-have received prior cytotoxic chemotherapy, including chemotherapy used for radiation sensitization
