Treatment of Resistant Depression in Adolescents

Is your teen taking Prozac ®, Zoloft ®, Celexa ® or Lexapro ® for depression?

Is your teen still:

  • Tired?
  • Withdrawn?
  • Feeling Down?
  • Unmotivated?
  • Irritable?
  • Feeling worthless?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, your teen may not be responding to his or her prescribed antidepressant medication and may qualify to participate in a national study for the treatment of resistant depression in adolescents (TORDIA), sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health.

This is a 26 week study of the effectiveness of certain antidepressant medications for the treatment of resistant depression and may include 12 weekly sessions of cognitive behavior therapy. Offices are located in Clear Lake and Galveston.

Study Criteria:

  • 12-18 years
  • Currently (or within the last month) being treated for depression with an SSRI (Prozac, Celexa, Lexapro or Zoloft) that doesn't appear to be working.
