A Prospective, Multicenter, Open-Label, Comparative, Efficacy Study of Pegasys plus Copegus in Treatment-Naive Latino Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C-Genotype 1, as Compared to Treatment-Naive Non-Latino Caucasian Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C-Genotype 1 (ML18179)
This study is for Latino or Non-Latino Caucasian patients who
have Chronic Hepatitis C infection that has never been treated with
interferons or ribavirin. Study participants will receive the
medications Pegasys and Copegus at the same time.
All study medications and procedures will be provided for free.
Patients will be reimbursed for travel expenses ($25 per visit).
There will be about 17 clinic visits over 1 1/2 years.

Patient Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:
You may be able to participate if you
-are male or female 18-65 years old
-have been diagnosed with Chronic Hepatitis C
-agree to not drink any alcohol during study participation
-meet additional entry criteria
You will not able to participate if you
-have had previous therapy with interferon or ribavirin
-are pregnant or breastfeeding
-are HIV positive
-have a history of depression
-have a history of cancer
