Tissue Donation Program

Healthy volunteers are needed for the NS-LIJ Tissue Donation Program Registry Research. If you are a healthy adult (18 years and older), you may be eligible to participate as a normal control in research. A normal control is a person who does not have a particular disease that is being studied. Normal controls are very important for research and are used as a comparison to people with specific diseases or conditions. The NS-LIJ Tissue Donation Program Registry will provide DNA samples from normal controls for comparison with DNA samples from patients with specific diseases in order to help determine what factors are involved in disease development.

Participation in this research will include:

  • A saliva and mouthwash sample
  • Completion of a brief questionnaire

You will be asked if you are willing to be re-contacted for additional research studies in the future.

You may be asked:

  • To provide approximately 50cc (about 3-1/2 tablespoons) of blood
  • To donate a blood sample for other research
