Anemia- Darbepoetin Alfa Treatment for Chronic Kidney Disease

People with chronic kidney disease currently receiving Aranesp® (darbepoetin alfa) or EPO/Epogen® (erythropoietin) to treat anemia are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by North Shore University Hospital.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are male or female at least 18 years of age.
  • Have chronic kidney disease.
  • Are currently receiving Aranesp® (darbepoetin alfa) or EPO/Epogen® (erythropoietin).

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Are pregnant or intend to become pregnant during the study.
  • Have had major surgery in the last 3 months.
  • Have had androgen therapy in the last 8 weeks.
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days.
