Have you or a family member been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm? Is there also a family history of brain aneurysms?
We are conducting a genetic study entitled Familial Intracranial
Aneurysm (FIA). The purpose of this research study is to identify
possible genes that may increase the risk of stroke and
particularly development of aneurysms in blood vessels of the
brain.
Once enrolled into the study, we will draw about 4-5 teaspoons
of blood, take 3 blood pressure readings, and you will answer some
family history and medical history questions. After that, you will
receive an annual follow-up questionnaire.
In order to qualify, you must be diagnosed with a brain aneurysm
and have either one other sibling diagnosed with an aneurysm and/or
two relatives who have been diagnosed.
