Anemia - cancer
Queens Hospital Center is currently recruiting subjects to
participate in an experimental study for treating anemia in cancer
subjects.
Study drug and procedures will be made available to you at no
cost, however, your insurance carrier will be expected to cover the
costs of standard procedures that you would undergo even if you
were not participating in this research study.
To qualify, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have anemia resulting from cancer, chemotherapy, or
radiotherapy
- Be stable for 1 month before the study starts
- Have a life expectancy of 9 months or greater based on the
judgement of the investigator
- Not have acute or chronic leukemia
- Not have received chemotherapy or radiotherapy within 30 days
of the start of the study
- Not have anemia resulting from factors other than cancer or
cancer therapy
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- Not have a history of uncontrolled seizures
- Not have an acute illness requiring hospitalization within 7
days of the start of the study
