Evaluation of the mechanisms causing high blood pressure in people with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. Male/female at least 18 years of age who have been diagnosed with ADPKD.
The Rogosin Institute Susan R. Knafel Polycystic Kidney Disease
Center is evaluating the mechanisms causing high blood pressure in
people with polycystic kidney disease.
You may qualify for this study if you are:
- Male or female at least 18 years of age.
- Have been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease
- Willing to stay overnight in the hospital
- Willing to take one dose of a blood pressure pill for the 2
consecutive days that you are in the hospital
- Willing to temporarily discontinue your current blood pressure
medications while under close supervision
If you qualify, you will receive at no cost, study
related:
- Physical examination
- Chest X-Ray
- Electrocardiogram
- Echocardiogram
- MRI of kidneys and liver
- Lab tests including a genetic test to identify your type of
polycystic kidney disease
